Help wanted: Dufflet Retail Sales Manager

Retail (Food) Sales Manager – Great Opportunity!
 

Do you want to be a part of a dynamic and creative organization with opportunity to manage 3 retail locations and develop your own marketing programs to grow sales?

Dufflet Pastries is a supplier of baked goods for restaurants, specialty food shops, supermarkets and hotels. We are seeking an experienced Retail Sales Manager with a vibrant personality to work with our retail teams in Toronto at 3 different locations – Queen West, Yonge Street and The Beach area.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, result oriented individual with proven customer relationship and team building skills, handling these key responsibilities:
• Plan marketing programs and implement strategies to drive sales and motivate employees
• Prepare, execute, analyze and make changes to achieve or exceed sales targets and operational plan
• Develop and manage advertising, special events, in store and seasonal promotions; represent organization at outside events (i.e. Luminato), wedding and trade shows
• Supervise daily store activities for 3 retail cafĂ© locations; provide exceptional customer service to clientele by providing product knowledge, upselling, assisting with quotes on special occasion/wedding cakes
• Manage manpower: hiring, training and discipline where necessary
• Oversee purchasing of all store materials, select new products from outside suppliers

Qualifications:
• Proven supervisory and leadership skills; strong organizational abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication sills
• Detail oriented; take initiative; meet required deadlines
• Take on complex situations and challenges for optimum outcomes and resolution; determine root cause of concerns to prevent repeat occurrences
• 5+ years’ experience in food industry is preferred; must have experience hiring, supervising and scheduling of personnel
• Working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel), Email and Internet and graphics software
• Must have knowledge of food handling techniques as it pertains to government legislation and retail food operations
• Must have access to transportation to travel between store locations as required

Available to work flexible hours Monday to Friday, as well as weekends when required; overtime may be required. Peak periods of business revolve around major holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, etc., therefore must be prepared to work additional hours.

Help wanted: Plant Maintenance Person (for Bakery)

.

We need a Plant Maintenance person for our bakery in Etobicoke.

Reporting directly to Plant Manager, you will be responsible to ensure equipment is in proper working order:
 

- Trouble shoot problems in a disciplined and timely manner,
- Perform repairs on bakery equipment,
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery,
- Perform repairs at our off-site (Toronto) retail locations when needed (valid driver’s license to travel),
- Maintain appropriate records and logs as per Global Food Safety Initiative (BRC) and HACCP requirements,
- Work with supervisors to assess equipment utilization issues and train where appropriate,
- Liaise with, and manage third party contractors.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands on plant maintenance experience ideally in food industry,
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, 
- Handy individual with certification in one of the following fields: millwright, electrical (some PLC), stationary engineer and/or general knowledge in others,
- Strong team player with great initiative, creativity, organization, independence and excellent street smarts,
- Excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills,
- Solid “can do” attitude with a positive outlook,
- Proficient using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).

Help wanted: Part-Time Customer Service Rep

.

We have a sweet opportunity for you at our wholesale bakery & head office on Norseman Street in Etobicoke! We're looking for a part-time Customer Service representative with a minimum of 2 years order desk or customer service experience.

Duties include
- respond to incoming telephone calls and emails from customers placing orders;
- contact customers directly to ask for their orders;
- order data entry using a custom database (will train);
- provide product knowledge to customers via telephone and email;
- advise customers of new products and promotions to up-sell and increase sales.

Qualifications and Requirements
- communicate and interact with customers in a professional manner;
- strong multi-tasking and organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines;
- experience using MS Office applications and customized order entry systems;
- ability to communicate in French would be an asset.

Must be available to work part-time hours, Monday to Friday 11am to 3pm with some flexibility and to work an occasional Saturday shift.

Dufflet Pastries is a supplier of baked goods for restaurants, specialty food shops, supermarkets and hotels. We are currently seeking a French/English Order Desk individual with a vibrant personality to work with our team of seasoned representatives at head office.

As this is a junior position, the ideal candidate requires a minimum of 1-year order desk or customer service experience to handle these key responsibilities:
• Respond to incoming calls from customers placing orders (French and/or English); call customers to place orders; input data of orders accurately
• Provide product knowledge to customers; advise of new products and promotions
• Build strong relationships with team and customers to maintain consistent high levels of service
• Maintain communications between internal departments, management and customers, and respond to questions and concerns in a timely manner

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Ability to interact with customers in both French and English (written and verbal) is a must
• Quick learner to adapt to work procedures and accommodate customer needs
