The Canadian Agri-Food Export Gala took place last night in Toronto with Kathleen Wynne (Minister of Agriculture and Food) presenting the Ontario Food Exporter Awards.
Of the 5 awards presented at the event, Dufflet Pastries Gluten-Free line was recognized as one of 10 finalists for this year's SIAL Innovations Award. This photo of Dufflet Rosenberg (centre) with the other nominees onstage was snapped by our friend Lotte Andersson of www.barry-callebaut.com
Congrats to the 2013 Ontario Food Exporter Award winner, Pillitteri Estates Winery, and to the finalists Conestoga Meat Packers Ltd. and HoneyBar.

Dufflet Gluten-Free line of desserts is finalist for SIAL Innovation Award!

Dufflet Pastries is proud to announce that it's new Gluten Free line is one of 10 product finalists for the 2013 SIAL Innovation Award!
The Dufflet line of packaged gluten-free products includes:
~ Carrot Cakelet®,
~ Chocolate Cakelet®,
~ Chocolate Chunk Brownie,
~ Chocolate Dipped Coconut Macaroon.
SIAL Canada is an international food and beverage trade show that takes place April 30 to May 2, 2013 at the Direct Energy Centre (Exhibition Place, Toronto). The show alternates annually between Montreal and Toronto and draws 14,000 professional visitors from 61 countries and 700 exhibitors over 230,000 sq/ft of exhibiting space.
Along with exhibits, demos and special events, SIAL also hosts 4 contests; Olive d'Or (best olive oil), Coffee Cup (best coffee), La Cuisine (best corporate chef) and SIAL Innovation (best international food innovation).
Dufflet Gluten Free is one of 10 finalists for the prestigious Innovation award - this is the process for judging;
Step 1: All participating products are carefully analyzed by an independent selection committee. Products showing innovative characteristics will be labelled “SIAL Innovation Selection.”
Step 2: Selected products are then presented to a jury of independent experts. This jury determines the 10 “SIAL Innovation Award” according to 4 criteria: market positioning, fabrication process, the recipe and packaging.
Step 3: Then the same jury selects amongst the 10 award winners the one who deserves the “SIAL Innovation Grand Award.”
